Its now the end of the year and I have begun the new painting I have been stewing over now for the past 3 months. Its been a wonderful year - more art on the way so stay tuned for 2010. Oh..and I have finally added that fancy little webpage icon, now my page will be easier to see in your favs.

2009-11-16

A quick update: "Relative Expectations" In the Photography section, a shot from last month that I've been addicted to. Over the past week I've been reinstalling my OS and getting everything fine tuned. I have now returned back to the piece I was originally working on - the hiatus made for a great redefining, should produce some interesting results.

I am currently working on my new painting, I hope to get atleast 2 more finished before the years end, figuring these are now taking months to create I'm having to choose very carefully what I want to say.

I was extremely busy over the course of last month taking shots with Taylor. You can see 3 more photos in the Photography section. It was an exciting & thrilling time as we delved even further into creating a new realm with our photos, In trees, mud, streams, sunflower fields, graveyards & woods we were able to create some of the best work to date. As a team, partners, we push further onto the next level.

"Burning Into The Night" Is now finished, the novel cover for Jordy Steinberg's first book for a trilogy entitled "Val Gedso Part I: Premonition"

Its now been 3 years of digital painting, around this time in 2006 I began my venture into the digital medium. Looking forward to the future of new things to experience and create with the tablet [www.wacom.com]. I am currently working on the cover art for the novel "Val Gedso Part I: Premonition" It will be featured in the Projects section soon.

Gallery Cleanup

I have decided to clean up my galleries by taking out some older pieces I have made in the past. While their meaning and purpose are and will always be the foundation and strength of my art, I have decided to remove them due to the technical skill I had at the time [2006, 2007]. I feel that I've grown as an artist over the years and have been able to achieve the vision on a greater scale as of recent. Its important for me as an artist to evolve, and to evolve I have to let go and keep moving forward. A few years from now I'll be doing this same exact thing - so having this done you will always see the currrent state of my mental/physical point as an artist. On another aspect of doing this, its important to remember no one wants to browse through 100+ images, its not something I find my self doing! So here you will have the direct message of who I am, quick & to the point.

JDSMERCURYART Version 4!

I decided to redo just about everything on the site, it needed a new feel. Make sure to check out the new Print section for an easier way of paying online for prints - a secure checkout function with a cart. There are also changes to the format of the galleries and new sections to browse through.

I am currently upgrading the Print process to this website - I'm leaving it up to a trusted company to handle your orders. When it is finished it will be a more convenient & easier experience for the customer. Some changes to the gallery structure will also be made.
